You may find the answers to your questions in our section below, if you are still unsure please dial 0800 279 0456 or email us.  We will be happy to help.

Q. What happens if the equipment doesn’t work on delivery?

Part of our Rental Agreement is a formal Acceptance Certificate, which you sign only when the equipment has been delivered and is working to your satisfaction. Only then do we pay the supplier and your Rental payments commence.

Q. We know it is possible to rent equipment, but what about software, installation, training or other ‘intangibles’?

All reasonable items that form part of the initial ‘investment’ in the equipment can be included in the Rental contract. This may include items from more than one supplier. For example, new kitchen equipment may require building, electrical and plumbing services from separate contractors. All these items can be included as part of a single rental arrangement.

Q. We understand that there is a minimum term, but what happens if we want to keep using the equipment?

We will contact you a few months before the minimum term is due to expire. If you would like to keep the equipment, providing it is safe to do so, this can be easily arranged and usually at a substantially reduced rental. Precise terms depend upon the renewal period sought – Just Ask-Ed!

Q. If we found that we no longer needed the equipment, are there penalties for early settlement?

There are no ‘penalties’ as such, but you would be required to pay the balance of rentals remaining for the minimum term. However, there would be a discount given for the early repayment and we would also share with you any benefit that we may obtain from any re-renting or sale of the equipment.

Q. Over what period can I spread the rental - can I rent PC's over a ten year period?

We would look to agree with you a suitable rental period related to the expected useful life of the equipment and set a term within the expected useful life of the equipment being rented.

Q. What about maintenance and repairs?

In a basic rental, you are responsible for all repairs and maintenance necessary to keep the equipment in good working order. You are free to make direct arrangements for a maintenance programme or we will be happy to include any maintenance charges in with the rentals and pass these on to the maintainer on your behalf.

Q. I’ve heard that the rentals may go up if tax rates change – is this right?

This can be a common clause in rental contracts, but all of our rental contracts offer fully fixed payments. Once signed, you have absolute certainty of costs for budgeting purposes.

Q. Do we need to have our own bank account?

Our normal method for the collection of rentals is by monthly or quarterly direct debit from your own "full" bank account. However, if your school or college uses the LEA for banking facilities, the rental payments may be made via the LEA and typically payments would be made quarterly or annually.

Q. What about VAT?

Rental payments are subject to the addition of VAT, but are based upon the pre -VAT cost of the equipment. Therefore, you suffer the VAT only once.
