Standard Rental

This is the most common form of agreement where substantially the whole cost of the equipment is spread over the appropriate rental period. The following table shows some example costs for each £1,000 of the cash price of the equipment (before VAT), with the rentals paid in arrears.

Operating Lease

This alternative is similar to the Standard Rental except that less than the whole cost of the equipment is recovered during the Rental Period.  This means that the equipment must be returned in full working order (fair wear and tear excepted), undamaged and complete with all accessories, manuals, logs etc. at the end of the Rental Period.  Alternatively, rentals to extend the Rental Period will be based upon 'Fair Market Value' of the Equipment at the time of any renewal.

Precise Operating Lease terms are more complex and depend heavily upon the nature of equipment sought, potential use etc.  However, below are some typical costs based upon relatively standard specification equipment in the categories shown.
